Master the fundamentals of fly fishing in a hands-on, comprehensive introductory course designed to take you from total beginner to self-sufficient angler. Classes are strictly capped at three people to ensure small-group, personalized instruction tailored to your pace.By the end of the day, you'll walk away with everything you need to know to confidently plan, rig, and execute a successful day out on the river by yourself. Class is on the lawn right along the banks of the Lower Deschutes River, you'll learn in a scenic setting.
Class Breakdown
Basics & Rigging (1 Hours): Essential knots, tackle setup, leader and tippet selection, and basic gear management.
Casting Instruction (1 Hour): Focused instruction on building a clean, accurate stroke and effective line-control techniques.
On-the-Water Application (4 Hours): Head straight to the river with direct, individual coaching to practice reading water, presenting flies, managing drifts, and hooking fish.Whether you've never held a fly rod or want to eliminate the guesswork from your outings, this course builds the foundational skills and real-world confidence to fish independently. Provide your own waders and all other essential gear and tackle provided.
